Janitorial Worker
This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility by performing daily and deep cleaning tasks throughout the plant. You will support food safety and quality standards by following established sanitation schedules, organizing janitorial supplies, and assisting with pest control activities while completing all required documentation accurately.
Responsibilities- Perform daily cleaning tasks in accordance with the Master Sanitation Schedule and Deep Cleaning Schedule.
- Clean and sanitize all assigned areas of the plant, including break rooms, locker rooms, offices, corridors, and production-related spaces.
- Carry out general cleaning and sanitation of equipment and building surfaces to support food safety and quality standards.
- Work safely and efficiently in all areas of the facility, following established safety and sanitation procedures.
- Organize, stock, and maintain janitorial supplies and ensure the work area remains clean, orderly, and well maintained.
- Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies and procedures related to cleaning and sanitation.
- Immediately report any potential food safety issues, hazards, or deviations from standards to management.
- Inspect areas and equipment as part of cleaning duties to verify proper sanitation and identify any issues that require attention.
- Complete all required paperwork and sanitation documentation accurately and on time to meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Assist in executing the pest control program, including monitoring the facility and reporting any signs of pest activity.
- Perform non-routine cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned, including special projects or deep cleaning activities.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility.
- At least 6 months of cleaning and sanitation experience in a facility, plant, or similar environment.
- Experience with general cleaning and sanitation of equipment, building interiors, and common areas.
- Ability to follow Master Sanitation and Deep Cleaning Schedules and adhere to established cleaning procedures.
- Understanding of basic inspection practices related to cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ability to comply with Quality Assurance policies and food safety guidelines.
- Capability to complete required paperwork and sanitation documentation accurately.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a production or plant environment.
- Attention to detail and consistency in maintaining high sanitation standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with sanitation practices in a food production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience assisting with pest control programs or facility monitoring.
- Ability to adapt to non-routine cleaning tasks and special sanitation projects.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly work areas and properly manage janitorial supplies.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment and follow dress code requirements.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a plant environment that includes cooler areas for much of the facility, with some production areas reaching temperatures up to approximately 90 degrees. You will work around production equipment and sanitation tools while following strict safety and cleanliness standards. The position requires wearing specific attire, including a hair net, lab coat, gloves, booties, and steel-toe footwear each day.
Uniforms are provided for use during work shifts, and employees change into these uniforms on site to maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Le Sueur, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.66 - $18.66/hr.
