Housekeeper Position

Lutsen Mountains located in Lutsen, Minnesota is hiring 13 Housekeepers for temporary, full-time employment, from 11/23/2026 - 04/04/2027.

Housekeepers will be responsible for cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, fitness room, pool area, and stairways. Clean rugs, carpets, furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners and other hand tools. Make beds. Empty waste baskets, empty/clear ashtrays, and dispose of trash. Dust, sweep, scrub, wax, and polish furniture, equipment, ornaments, and fixtures. Replenish and stock storage areas. Perform laundry duties, including stripping linens, operating washers and dryers, and folding and properly storing linens and towels.

Clean and sanitize kitchen areas. Following snow events, sometimes daily when needed to keep operations running, remove snow or ice from walking pathways adjacent to guest and employee areas using sand/salt and/or handheld tools such as shovels and snow/ice scrapers.

Must have the ability to work on one's feet for long periods; bend, lift, twist, and kneel. May need to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Schedule

35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday.

Example shifts: 8:00am to 3:00pm, 10:00am to 5:00pm, or 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Shift hours may vary.

Short-Term Housing

Optional housing is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis for workers who are relocating to begin employment. Accommodation:
Dorm-style housing is provided and ranges from $200-$450 per month and is pro-rated at a daily rate and deducted from each paycheck. Deposit is $150 and is refundable so long as there is no damage to the property due to negligence. Deposit is deducted in increments of $50 from your first 3 paychecks. Housing includes bed, linens, TV, Wi-Fi, full-size kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, utensils, and washer/dryer.

Other Details

On-the-job training will be provided.

Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by government (excluding passport fees).

Daily transportation to and from work, plus regular transportation for local errands and trips to Duluth is provided at no extra cost to those living in employee housing.

A single workweek will be the standard for computing wages due, and employees are paid every two weeks.

Employees may choose to purchase appropriate cold-weather apparel from Employer at a discount and pay by payroll deduction, only with their consent ($10-200 per item).

In addition to deductions noted above, all deductions from paycheck required by law will be made.

If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work.

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek.

The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs during the last workweek. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
