Immediate Supervisor: Building & Grounds Director
Le Sueur-Henderson Public Schools is seeking a motivated individual with a mechanical background and strong problem-solving skills to join our Building & Grounds team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience or interest in mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, boilers, equipment repair, or general building maintenance
.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands and troubleshooting problems.
Applicants do not need to have every required license when hired. We are looking for individuals willing to learn, grow, and obtain additional licensures and certifications, including boiler engineer licensure.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with building systems or equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing, heating, electrical, HVAC, or other mechanical systems preferred.
- Willingness to obtain required boiler engineer licensure.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer and communication skills.
- Maintain and repair heating, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, and other building systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Complete general building repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain school grounds and athletic fields.
- Assist with snow removal and seasonal maintenance.
- Perform safety inspections and respond to maintenance requests.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for school and community events.
- Provide custodial support and general building upkeep as needed.
This position offers a variety of hands‑on work and the opportunity to develop valuable mechanical and maintenance skills while helping maintain safe and comfortable schools for our students, staff, and community.
