Pay Range: $70,000-$80,000 based on experience
Schedule:
Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm - Occasional Weekends and On Call to handle emergencies

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of trade or vocational school, with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC equipment, refrigeration and electricity preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years full-time experience in construction or maintenance of equipment, utilities and buildings.
- Knowledge of state building, plumbing and electrical codes and ordinances.
- Boiler’s license (1st class and above)
- Knowledge and ability in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, plastering and painting.
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Knowledge of state building, plumbing and electrical codes and ordinances.
- Knowledge of basic machinery and tools.
- Ability to operate lawn and yard equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to work within federal and state regulations, Volunteers of America National Services facility policies and procedures.
- Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, visitors and other facility personnel.
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in servicing and documentation.
- Develops and reviews Maintenance policies and procedures on an annual basis.
- Plans, schedules, supervises, delegates and participates in maintenance and repair work, including, but not limited to, masonry, carpentry, painting, gardening, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning and heating; monitors staff for completion of work on a timely basis.
- Performs Preventative Maintenance:
- Establishes a preventative maintenance schedule and recommends building equipment improvements.
- Keeps accurate records of equipment and maintenance performance.
- Performs periodic maintenance audits of building, grounds, facility and equipment.
- Maintains a current inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, equipment and stock.
- Conducts routine tests of various systems and equipment, including, but not limited to, emergency generator, fire alarm, sprinkler system, hood and duct system, door alarms, call lights and hot water system.
