Schedule:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 5:00PM-1:30AM and Saturday & Sunday 11:00AM-7:30PM.
Under the direction of the Facilities Director, Housekeepers perform routine janitorial duties in assigned areas ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of YMCA facilities and compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Works closely with Head of Housekeeping to maintain an attractive, safe, and welcoming environment for members, staff, and guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Ensure Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all assigned areas; perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, washing windows, dusting counters, desks, and filing cabinets, emptying wastebaskets, cleaning drinking fountains, etc.
- Restock toilet paper, hand towels, soap, and trash bags; lock and unlock doors.
- Utilize and operate various machines and equipment in the delivery of service, such as vacuum cleaner, floor buffer, carpet shampooer, pressure washer, hand tools, snow blower, and snow shovels.
- Record and report all needed repairs; repair as directed.
- Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker-rooms and bathrooms), etc.
- Set up/take down equipment for programs, meetings, special events, and other maintenance logistical needs.
- Perform landscaping and facility maintenance to ensure a safe and attractive property year-round. Remove snow, ice and trash from around entryways to the building.
- Be alert to risk management and respond/repair to safety issues immediately.
- Remain familiar with emergency procedures in the program and the facility, understanding specific responsibilities in case of an emergency.
- Assist other staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to paint, clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.
Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
