Custodian
A custodian shall possess a demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities and other such alternatives as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
ReportingReports to:
Director of Field Operations (FOD) or Designee
To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.
Functions- Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair.
- Comply with laws, district policies, and team procedures pertaining to the use of chemicals, and storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel, and request replacements in advance.
- Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times.
- Clean corridors at the beginning of the school day and as needed during the day.
- Scrub, hose down, and disinfect toilet floors and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
- Keep the grounds free from litter.
- Assist Building and Grounds Worker with yard‑keeping chores such as grass cutting and tree trimming.
- Report major repairs to the FOD promptly.
- Report any damage to school property to the FOD and principal immediately.
- Remain on the school premises during school hours and authorized non‑school hours.
- Assume responsibility for opening and closing the building each school day, ensuring all doors and windows are secured and lights are turned off, except those left on for safety.
- Arrive promptly for work and any appointments or assignments.
- Be available for team communications by email, text, voice, or other means as directed.
- Understand and operate under the Field Operations Team's operating procedures.
- Wash all windows inside and outside at least twice a year, more frequently if needed.
- Conduct periodic inspections and tests of all electrical installations.
- Participate in and complete the approved district Staff Development Program.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the FOD or Designee.
- Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required.
- Maintain all motors and other mechanical equipment on a scheduled service program.
- Carry out any other field operations tasks during work hours when requested.
Performance will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor. Evaluations occur annually to determine re‑hiring/termination, and may be conducted several times a year at the supervisor’s discretion.

This position is based on a 12‑month agreement. Compensation and work year to be established annually by the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Trustees. The position is “At Will.”
