Story Land - Carpenter (Full Time)Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall maintenance of all buildings including Living Shores, attraction buildings, seasonal housing, duplex and bathroom buildings.
- Evaluate and inspect buildings, siding, structures, roofing, drywall, etc., and provide maintenance when needed.
- Plan materials needed for project completion and repairs.
- Work with Maintenance to assist in building repairs.
- Evaluate and inspect building plumbing and interior lighting; provide repairs when needed.
- Help inspect and repair water meters.
- Help provide winterization to building water systems including seasonal housing.
- Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed.
- Communicate updates to supervisor on current work orders.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Other duties as requested.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Languages:
Fluent English. Bilingual skills are helpful.
- Communication – Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively with a wide range of diverse personnel.
- Problem Solving/Analysis – Define problems, research, and collect data, draw valid conclusions and execute remedial strategies in a timely manner.
- Flexibility – Handle multiple priorities simultaneously; maintain a flexible work schedule to meet changing demands for multiple concurrent projects.
- Initiative and Adaptability – Take initiative and execute plans to accomplish strategic objectives in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Computer Proficiency – MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Must possess 1 year of facilities building maintenance; previous experience with commercial facilities or amusement parks a plus.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and elements including direct sun with no shade, cold, rain, dust, and all other outdoor weather elements.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, walk, stoop, and bend.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess the physical capabilities necessary to perform the job duties.
- Hourly position with no direct reports; medical, dental, and vision coverage.
