Education & Experience:
- Previous customer service& hotel experience preferred
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a related field
- Previous supervisory experience required
- At least 5 years practical experience in one or more of the technical trades (HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.)
- Previous experience with budgeting
- Must have good working knowledge of excel, word and outlook
- Any license the property may require
- Computer, projector, copier, fax machine, scanner, other office equipment, telephone
- Hand and power tools, electrical test equipment, refrigeration equipment, plumbing equipment, welding equipment, audio-visual equipment, pipe cutting equipment, telephone, office equipment, computer/computerized monitoring systems
- Ability to use Word, Excel and various other software programs
- Under variable temperature conditions
- Around chemicals, fumes and or odor hazards

- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, as defined in the hotel handbook, when working
- Comply at all times with New Castle standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Supervise and train all Engineering staff
- Oversee all projects
- Coordinate all Engineering staff scheduling
- Create and adhere to annual budget for the department
- Develop and implement plans to keep property, equipment, and grounds in an acceptable state of repair
- Create and implement preventive maintenance program for all hotel equipment
- Coordinate periodic inspection of all safety systems
- Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner
- Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and report findings to Guest Services. Take immediate action as necessary
- Design construction and repair projects
- Ensure engineering staff adheres to Loss Prevention guidelines
- Keep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attention
- Supervise staff including; interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach & council, recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications, recommend discipline & termination as appropriate
- Prepare department payroll weekly
- Check and respond to electronic communications in a timely fashion
- Check appearance of all department employees to ensure compliance with NCHR Standards of Appearance, council when necessary
- Negotiate and enter into contracts, as appropriate, to maintain the facility to required standards
