R. J. Corman is seeking a talented Mechanical Supervisor to join and lead our team in Ste. Genevieve, MO.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures the safe, efficient, and profitable general management of mechanical operations.
• Oversees efficient operation through planning and control of daily operations, crew scheduling, and supervising.
• Follow and monitor work practices, safety related issues to improve quality and performance
• Locomotive and FRA inspections.
• Locomotive repairs including mechanical, air and electrical.
• Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs on assigned company locomotives, vehicles, and equipment.
• Freight car repair if necessary.
• Some travel to other locations required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or

Education and Experience:

• Mechanical experience required
• Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools
• Electrical experience preferred
• Experience in rail car repair preferred
• Welding and Oxygen/acetylene torching experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner
• Requires frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Able to frequently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30lbs
• Able to push and pull with 100lbs of force, the force required to push/pull hand brakes
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.

Environmental Conditions:

Must be able to perform specified duties outside in all weather conditions.

Major or Unusual Problems: A rapidly expanding company requires employees to be flexible with altering operating schedules. One must also expect physical work in inclement weather.

Job Dimensions:
Must be able to perform duties under limited supervision. This position requires supervision of fellow employees.
