Summer Custodian

Job Summary

The Summer Custodian assists with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for parish buildings and grounds during the summer months. Responsibilities include cleaning, light maintenance, event setup, and supporting parish activities and programs.

• Clean and sanitize parish facilities, including:
  • Church
  • Parish offices
  • Classrooms
  • Restrooms
  • Hallways and gathering spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash
• Assist with floor care, including waxing and buffing when needed
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for parish events and programs
• Perform light outdoor maintenance such as:
  • Picking up litter
  • Watering plants
  • Basic landscaping assistance
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor
• Help maintain supplies and custodial equipment
• Follow parish safety procedures and cleaning standards
• Provide courteous and respectful service to parish staff, volunteers, and visitors

• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds
• Basic cleaning or maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Respect for the mission and values of the parish and the Catholic Church
