Position Summary:
Buffalo Prairie Care Center is seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance, repair, safety, and appearance of our long-term care and skilled nursing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and staff while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, systems, and grounds.
Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance programs and maintain documentation.
Ensure compliance with all OSHA, state, federal, and long-term care regulations.
Monitor and maintain fire safety systems, emergency generators, and disaster preparedness equipment.
Coordinate inspections, permits, and outside contractors as needed.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Maintain facility appearance, including grounds, parking lots, and common areas.
Oversee inventory and ordering of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Assist with room renovations, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
Participate in safety committee meetings and facility surveys.
Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain safe and functional.
Qualifications:
Previous maintenance experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility equipment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Valid driver's license, Class E preferred.
Schedule:
Full-Time On-call availability for emergency maintenance situations as needed.
