Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Summary
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans;
using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Performs minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment (e.g., trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles). Creates and processes work orders, performs minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment, assesses maintenance, repair, and replacement needs, identifies needed parts and possible solutions, consults with others and selects the best solution, conducts repairs and replacements (e.g., drivetrain components, communication equipment, onboard technology), and diagnoses HVAC systems, following company and DOT guidelines.
Receivefuel drops
Receives fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance, following procedures for fuel additives, monitoring tank levels before and after the drop, collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping, and completing appropriate paperwork.
Correctly identifies and performs warrantable repairsEnters accurate information on the condition, cause, and correction into the maintenance system, completes warranty tags as needed, ensures parts are retained according to warranty guidelines, and creates and processes warranty claims to ensure proper credit is received.
