Maintenance Utility

Sam Baker Hospitality offers cabins for lodging guests, retail gift sales, café, and watercraft rentals.

This position will require travel between Sam

A. Baker State Park and Lake Wappapello State Park.

Responsible for performing a variety of basic skills involved in the upkeep of buildings and grounds, including lodging, retail stores, restaurants and housing.

• Receive and complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner, as required by Maintenance Department policies and procedures.
• Assist in the completion, tracking, and reporting of work orders.
• Perform general painting, carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, landscaping maintenance, etc.
• Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment as requested.
• Conduct “hands‑on repairs” in most maintenance disciplines.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures including when lifting, climbing, etc.
• Be available to assist other team members with maintenance‑related tasks.
• Provide polite, knowledgeable, and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries.
• Understand the company’s ISO (Environmental & Quality) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet their specific responsibilities.
• Other duties per duties checklist and as assigned.

• Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment common to maintenance and repair.
• Possess initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations.
• Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges, and roofs, and understand OSHA safety requirements as applicable.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must have a valid driver's license to operate vehicles throughout property.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification/degree preferred.
• One year of general maintenance and/or construction National Park experience preferred.
