Janitor, Maintenance​/Cleaning, Cleaning Services

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean floors in all areas of the Tribal Hall and Administration departments.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and restocking supplies.
• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Empty trash containers and replace bags.
• Clean windows, entryways, and common areas.
• Maintain kitchen and food preparation areas clean.
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, ceremonies, and events.
• Monitor the facility for needed repairs and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain outdoor surrounding areas such as entrances and walkways (sweeping, debris removal).
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Maintain respect for Tribal traditions, ceremonies, and cultural practices conducted within the facility.
• Handle sacred or sensitive areas with care as directed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, senior community member, and Reservation information in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Strong work ethic.
• Respectful communication and teamwork.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity.

• May require evenings, weekends, or holidays based on community events.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying environmental conditions.
• Active, physically demanding role.
