Description

The housekeeper reports to the Environmental Director. The hours are 7 am-3:30 pm during the week and 6 am-2:30 pm on the weekends. The housekeeper works to ensure that the facility including resident rooms, hallways, offices, and other specified areas are kept clean and in orderly condition. The appearance and maintenance of our facility is one of the reasons that families choose our facility when seeking placement for a loved one.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must know and practice resident’s rights.
  • Must know and practice the policies and procedures of Independence Care Center of Perry County.
  • A housekeeper works to provide a clean and pleasing appearance of all areas of the facility.
  • Housekeeper should be a service-minded individual with a cheerful, customer service attitude.
  • A housekeeper works to provide a clean and pleasing appearance to all areas of the facility.
  • Housekeeper must be able to address the concerns and cleaning needs of the facility in a friendly and professional manner.
  • A housekeeper must have good organizational abilities, follow-up skills, and attention to details both in their work areas and when communicating with our residents, resident families, and other team members.
  • A housekeeper must have a team-oriented attitude and be able to take direction from the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • The housekeeper assists in mealtime activities, including escorting the residents to and from meals and assisting the residents with their meals.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Experience preferred but will train.
  • Must work every other weekend and some holidays.
  • Must have good physical health with no communicable disease present.
  • Must be able to work with residents and families in a friendly and professional manner and be able to work effectively with fellow coworkers.
  • Must possess flexibility and tolerance to adjust to schedule changes.
  • PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must assist residents in a time of emergency, must be able to move quickly from one part of the building to another.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 or more hours per day while working.
  • Must be able to demonstrate appropriate body mechanics.
  • With proper body mechanics, must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
