Position: AUTOMOBILE MECHANIC (CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES)
Location: California

Salary: $4,978.00 - $5,960.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of an alternate range when applicable.

Under the direction of the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor (Correctional Facility), the Automotive Mechanic will perform skilled work in the adjustment, servicing, and repair of automotive equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect all automotive equipment on a regular basis for safety and roadworthiness.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automotive items and associated electrical systems.
  • May instruct, lead, or supervise incarcerated persons in maintenance tasks.

Eligibility:

  • Must meet the Minimum Requirements listed in the Classification Specification.
  • Eligible for Training and Development assignments may also be considered.

Minimum Requirements: Available in the Class Specification for AUTOMOBILE MECHANIC (CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES).
Training and Development Assignment status may be considered for this position.
