Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your role as a Housekeeper 1 is vital to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. This position involves performing daily cleaning duties with attention to detail and adherence to established standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cleaning of assigned patient rooms and ancillary areas daily, following specific procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned office spaces according to policy.
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents for assigned tasks.
  • Ensure housekeeping carts are locked and stored properly, keeping janitor closets neat and organized.
  • Complete daily cleaning logs accurately and submit them to supervisors.
  • Report any issues related to cleaning, maintenance, equipment, safety, or facility repairs promptly to the appropriate department.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic literacy and ability to follow written and verbal instructions are essential. Willingness to learn additional tasks and duties is important.

Experience

0-3 months of housekeeping or floor care experience, which can be gained through on-the-job training or prior work.

Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Good communication skills and ability to organize work effectively.
  • Physical ability to stoop, bend, reach, twist, lift up to 40 pounds, and push carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to healthcare facility policies and procedures.
  • Safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Working Conditions

May encounter unpleasant odors, body fluids, and potential exposure to infectious diseases. Work environment includes exposure to cleaning chemicals and wet or slippery surfaces. Some areas may contain medications.
