Senior Maintenance Technician

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety. This position is responsible for start-up of equipment, preventive maintenance, equipment changeovers, equipment/building repairs, basic/routine facility maintenance while following all safety measures. Assist manager and oversee the maintenance team. Lead projects, schedule repairs and maintenance to adhere to manufacturing schedule.

Help with scheduling including time and labor. Update and create drawings or charts to adhere and contribute to matrix. Lead and support the maintenance team during projects, equipment rollouts, and facility initiatives. Perform emergency repairs and troubleshooting on production equipment to minimize downtime. Execute preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and facility systems. Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and control systems.

Conduct equipment calibrations and ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently. Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and work orders while maintaining accurate maintenance records. Manage hazardous waste handling and disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee and coordinate work performed by external vendors and contractors. Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures. Collaborate effectively with Engineering, IT, Operations Technology (OT), and production teams on projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, certified trade or equivalent completion of a craft apprenticeship required. 6+ years of advanced mechanical, steam generator, electrical, plumbing, building, HVAC system repair or related experience required. Experience in industrial manufacturing with PLC, CAD, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electronically controlled equipment is preferred. Management skills and leadership required. Knowledge of 5S/6S techniques and Lean Manufacturing Skills. Knowledge of safety practices or Hazwoper training.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Ability to perform basic math problems, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Requires ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Utilization of reading and understanding measuring tools.

Have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to follow detailed instructions and directions and provide immediate feedback.
