This position is a Full‑Time 40‑hour weekly role for the Military, located in Mitchell, SD. The Building Maintenance Specialist will perform all forms of facility maintenance including construction/remodel project management, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, preventative maintenance, janitorial, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and related tasks. Responsibilities include scheduling and completing maintenance projects, completing reports and records, working with contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with department policies, and maintaining a high level of technical expertise in geothermal, HVAC, and boiler systems.

The incumbent will also troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, use diagnostic meters, and conduct trend tracking of outages and work orders. A key responsibility is to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard through routine inspections and prompt responses to maintenance issues. The standard work schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (ten‑hour days). The schedule may vary due to emergencies and the incumbent will be required to serve on a snow removal team during winter as needed.
