Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician

Location: Mobile, AL.
Travel: Fully remote role on average 75% travel; responsibilities performed when not traveling can be completed at home.
Key QualificationsRequirements: 3+ years of electromechanical experience with a related technical degree, or 5+ years of experience without formal education.
Duties and Responsibilities- Install, integrate, repair, and troubleshoot machinery with a high level of technical skill and knowledge.
- Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met.
- Direct and/or supervise customer personnel or Caljan contractors during installations, integrations, or servicing.
- Identify and correct hardware or software discrepancies.
- Maintain positive customer relationships.
- Identify new product opportunities and recommend improvements; advise customers on necessary parts after reviewing inventory.
- Support Caljan’s Customer Service team by receiving and responding to technical inquiries from customers, contractors, Sales, and other Caljan personnel.
- Function as a technical resource for Sales and Engineering Design to address installation, installation/integration, or repair inquiries; provide technical support for other departments.
- Prepare accurate and timely trip reports summarizing work performed and equipment status, and identify parts opportunities.
- Comply with Caljan policies and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with customers and Customer Service to resolve warranty, installation, and commissioning issues.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge on all Caljan products and competitive products.
- Demonstrate products to customers, including training on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Compensation: Excellent pay and overtime; earn between $35-$42/hour based on experience, with significant overtime potential. Technicians often earn $100,000+ in the first year with room for growth.
- Work-Life: Most weekends off; travel scheduled Monday–Friday to maximize time at home.
- Travel: Extensive travel across multiple states and occasionally internationally; travel expenses are covered by company credit card and per diem.
