Maintenance Worker

Essential Functions:

• Respond to assigned school maintenance repairs and construction as designated by Maintenance/Transportation Supervisor.
• Responsible for maintenance and repairs of county school facilities and grounds that are not covered by individual custodial employees.
• Attend any workshops and meetings as required by the Superintendent and/or State Department of Education. Perform duties in a conscientious manner, giving primary consideration to doing high-quality work as effectively and efficiently as possible.
• Observe all basic requirements and standards of safety. Cooperate with co-workers and principals in a manner that promotes good working relationships. Communicate needs for maintenance as observed to the Maintenance/Transportation Supervisor.
• Any other essential functions assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

• 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license - CDL where applicable
• Physically capable of performing assigned duties
• Experience preferred.

As per the Jackson County Board of Education Salary Matrix.

12-month contract

May 7, 2026, through May 14, 2026, or until filled.
