Industrial Cleaner

Responsibilities

• Provide general cleaning services and maintain an attractive, sanitary and safe facility.
• Cleans assigned areas including vessels, offices, restrooms, carpet, walls, furniture, etc.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, wet/dry mopping, dust mopping, and vacuuming of carpets.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment (cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuum, mops, etc.) to ensure availability for proper facility stocking.
• Remove trash and garbage to maintain a sanitary and safe environment.
• Respond to immediate safety and operational concerns by taking appropriate action to resolve safety issues and maintain a functional manufacturing environment.
• Work any shift and perform tasks outside craft as required.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Perform simple math such as adding, subtracting and measuring.
• Ability to apply common sense and understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems that may arise in certain situations.

• 18 years of age or older at time of application.
• Must be able to provide proof of U.S. person status.
• Willing to submit to a drug screen and a background check.
• No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date.
• No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date.

• Must be able to tour all vessels and work sites.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally required to sit.
• Ability to bend, squat, stoop, crawl, kneel; perform prolonged standing.
• Ability to turn head and body at the waist from side to side and around the vertical axis.
• Lift/push/pull 50–75 lbs on an occasional basis, and 20 lbs on a frequent basis.
• Ability to climb in a safe manner (stairs, scaffolding, ladders, ramps).
• Ability to work at heights above 12’ while using ladders, scaffolding, and/or man lifts.
• Demonstrate safe use of required tools and equipment, good balance on uneven surfaces, and adequate hand‑grip and coordination.
• Use personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) per OSHA standards.
• Withstand cold and hot temperatures; enter 18”, 36” openings and work in confined spaces for prolonged periods.
• Respond to verbal and audible commands; utilize visual skills to perceive attributes of objects/materials.

The work environment includes humid conditions, bright flashing lights, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat. Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles at or below the PEL, toxic or caustic chemicals, heat, and cold may occur. The noise level is usually very loud, +90 dB.
