General Maintenance Technician

The General Maintenance Technician supports the American National Red Cross by maintaining safe, reliable facilities that enable mission-critical services. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and grounds, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and safety checks. The technician completes work orders, supports disaster-response facility needs, and coordinates with staff, volunteers, and vendors. Ideal candidates are hands-on problem solvers committed to safety, teamwork, and the Red Cross humanitarian mission.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Inspect facilities regularly to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs.
• Complete work orders, track parts, and document maintenance activities.
• Support emergency and disaster-response facility needs, including after-hours calls as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
• Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, and Red Cross facility standards.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and inventory in an organized and safe manner.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support mission-critical facility operations.
