Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, performs custodial work to maintain cleanliness of assigned facility areas, groups of buildings, and office spaces based on a predetermined schedule; observes and reports concerns involving general campus maintenance and security; and performs related work as assigned.
Responsibilities- Clean floors (sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, seals) and carpets (vacuum, spot clean).
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, and metalwork.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles, including trash barrels.
- Maintain restrooms, locker rooms, and showers.
- Wash windows, walls, chalkboards, drapes and blinds.
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment for special events or meetings.
- Replace light bulbs and lighting tubes.
- Pick up debris from school grounds and adjacent areas.
- Assist with the material recycling program.
- Use a high‑pressure washer for concrete surfaces as needed.
- Perform emergency cleanup services (breakage, vandalism, spills, illness).
- Assist in receiving and distributing supplies and equipment.
- Assist with campus events and emergencies (snow removal, flooding, storm cleanup, graduation, traffic control, signage).
- Perform minor maintenance tasks to keep assigned areas safe and operational.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of: basic cleaning methods, procedures, and techniques; cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment; safe working methods; custodial program operations; tools and supplies for custodial and minor building maintenance; sanitation and disinfecting principles; safe use of cleaning chemicals; occupational hazards and safety practices.
- Ability to: perform moderate to heavy manual activities; perform a variety of custodial and routine maintenance activities; interpret and enforce department policies and procedures; utilize cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment safely and effectively; identify custodial and maintenance needs and initiate corrective actions; understand and follow oral and written instructions; work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience performing duties related to the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities.
- Depending on assignment, a valid California driver’s license may be required.
- Mobility: ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps; walk or stand for extended periods.
- Dexterity: full range of motion in the upper extremities; manual dexterity to operate equipment and hand tools; handle and work with various materials and objects.
- Lifting: frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- Visual: close vision sufficient to read labels and documents; ability to adjust focus frequently.
- Hearing/Talking: able to hear normal speech, speak and hear on the telephone, and speak in person.
- Emotional/Psychological: frequent work alone; some public contact.
- Work performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
- Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather may occasionally occur.
