• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in custodial and maintenance functions
• Basic skills in electrical, mechanical, heating, and cooling systems
• Valid driver’s license (see duty #2)
• Familiarity with equipment and current maintenance systems
• Basic computer skills
• Willingness to learn new skills and follow directions
• Minimum age of 21 years

• Director of Buildings & Grounds (responsible to and evaluated by)

• Assist the Director of Buildings and Grounds with the management of the district-wide maintenance program to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff

• Provide service on a district-wide basis as assigned
• Obtain a CDL‑B within six months from hire date and act as a substitute bus driver
• Assist the Director in maintaining all district vehicles and power equipment and follow regular servicing schedules
• Perform maintenance and grounds duties Monday through Friday, flexible schedule as required, day and night crews as outlined
• Mow lawns and maintain proper mowing heights; keep mower blades sharp; mow each site once per week during growing season
• Daily refuse pickup using facility vehicles, remove broken glass or rubble to keep areas safe, and transport refuse to a suitable dumpsite
• Assist with snow removal as assigned
• Assist with school traffic control as assigned
• Perform all duties related to maintenance assigned by the Director
• Ensure safety of students and staff while on school property
• Guard confidentiality of information
• Assist custodians with tasks at the Director’s direction
• Perform any other duties requested by the Director or Superintendent

• Bending, carrying, climbing, traveling between job sites, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, and standing
• Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 50 lbs, such as assistance with children or furniture
• Supervise students in all weather conditions, meet multiple demands, interact with public and staff
• Regular standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing; occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

• Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases
