Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Install and repair heat and frost insulation on new mechanical systems and mechanical projects.
* Remove asbestos containing building material from campus buildings.
* Mechanical/Thermal System Insulation
* Other building components/floor tile and sprayed acoustic plaster
* Perform and/or assist building operating engineers in projects to improve indoor air quality.
* Hazardous material pickup, storage, and cleanup of chemicals, paint, and fluorescent light bulbs.
* This position is required to maintain a valid Illinois Asbestos Worker License.

Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED.
* A Current/Valid Asbestos Workers' License certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
* A certification of completion of an apprenticeship as a Building Heat/Frost Insulator under the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
OR
A current/active journeyman status as a Heat/Frost Insulator.
Pre-graduation applicants are welcome to apply. In order to be considered for employment, the degree must be conferred at the time of application, unless applicant is in the final semester of a degree program; if so, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment. For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).
