Position Summary
This position involves physically preparing venues for events, including arranging furniture, setting up stages and equipment, and breaking down the space after the event is over. This position also involves cleaning.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.
Key responsibilities- Physical setup:
Arrange tables, chairs, stages, and other equipment based on floor plans and event resumes. - Equipment handling:
Unload, set up, and properly store equipment, and assist with technical setups like sound and lighting. - Venue organization and cleanliness:
Maintain a clean and organized event space, including common areas, and ensure storage areas are clear. - Breakdown and cleanup:
Tear down all equipment and supplies after the event and ensure the venue is left clean and tidy. - Safety and compliance:
Follow all safety precautions, and ensure all setups comply with regulations like fire codes. - Support and communication:
Read and understand diagrams, respond quickly to requests from event planners and supervisors, and assist with other assigned tasks.
- Physical stamina:
Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, including lifting and carrying. - Attention to detail:
Accurately follow diagrams and instructions to ensure everything is set up correctly. - Organization:
Strong organizational skills to manage the setup and breakdown process efficiently. - Teamwork and communication:
Ability to work effectively with a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and other staff. - Problem-solving:
Ability to handle unexpected issues and perform tasks under pressure. - Customer service:
Provide friendly and helpful service to guests and other staff. - Flexibility:
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules. - A positive and professional demeanor is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous related experience in a similar industry.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
- Perform other physical tasks.
- Knowledge of working with computers.
- Desire to cross-train as a cleaning specialist.
