A Courier at M.C. Dean, Inc. is responsible for moving materials from the Company’s warehouse and area vendors to various job sites located throughout Monroe, LA.

• Moving materials from the Company’s warehouse and area vendors to various job sites using company vehicles.
• Checking with the corporate office after completed deliveries to confirm deliveries and collections and receive instructions for other deliveries.
• Delivering messages and items such as documents and packages between company divisions and job sites.
• Obtaining signatures and payments or arranging for recipients to make payments.
• Planning and following the most efficient routes for delivering goods.
• Receiving messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two‑way radio, or in person.
• Recording information such as items received and delivered and recipients’ responses to messages.
• Sorting items to be delivered according to the delivery routes.

• High School Diploma with 1+ years of experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Knowledge of surrounding area roads and highways.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Ability and CMV certification to operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more.
• Must successfully complete a DOT physical.

• This position is physically demanding and often requires working outdoors while exposed to all types of weather conditions and environments.
• The position also requires working in areas under construction or in restricted areas such as a switch gear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic.
• Access to work areas that are accessible only by OSHA‑approved site construction ladders or stairs under construction is required. Flexible work hours, overtime, weekends, and night shifts may be required to meet project deadlines.
• The incumbent must work in the presence of customers and their representatives with minimal interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.

• The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
• Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
• Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Possess good vision (may be corrected), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
• May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
• Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong, acknowledging problems but not necessarily solving them.
• Apply general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers.
• Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among events.
• See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
