- Non-Exempt SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the buildings and grounds, ordering supplies, and minor maintenance of Head Start equipment by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
OTHERSKILLS AND ABILITIES
Incumbent must demonstrate a working knowledge of basic hand cleaning tools, carpet cleaner, scrubber, vacuum cleaner, and basic hand tools.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONSIncumbent must demonstrate the ability to read, understand and follow instructions on use of chemicals and cleaning supplies. Employee must pass a pre-employment physical, TB test, and drug screening and submit to random drug screenings.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSIncumbent must possess/maintain or obtain/maintain within 90 days of employment, a current CDL and valid state issued driver's license.
