Major Job Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain medical center campus grounds as outlined in daily tasks.
Coordinate and complete special projects as assigned.
Coordinate and complete daily preventive maintenance as assigned.
Fulfill responsibilities for on-call duties as assigned.
Monitor and maintain all building systems assigned.
Completes work requests and follow-up.
Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
Work within expense limits as outlined on specific tasks.
Skills, Knowledge, & AbilitiesWilling and able to work in environment with/around medical center patients.
Good communication skills are preferred.
Knowledge in the following areas is preferred:
- Life safety codes for Critical Access Medical Center
- Electrical
- Plumbing (residential)
- HVAC
- Carpentry
- Grounds keeping
- Knowledge in the use of various hand and power tools.
- Able to operate vehicles such as truck, tractor, front-end loader, ATV, snow plow, carts, and hand trucks.
Basic knowledge of the following codes and regulations is strongly preferred:
- Hazmat regulations
- Handling of asbestos products
- Local/state fire regulations
- Material Safety Data Sheets (use of)
- Underground storage tanks
- Generator operations
- Boiler operations
- State electrical codes
- State elevator codes
- ADA regulations
- OSHA guidelines
- State/federal building codes
- National Incident Management System
- National Incident Command System
- Medical center Incident Command System
High School diploma or GED.
Low pressure Boiler license preferred.
NIMS 100, 700 certificate preferred.
Class A UST certificate is preferred.
Experience1 to 3 years experience in commercial grounds-keeping and or maintenance preferred.
ScheduleHours of work: 40 hours per week.
Must be flexible in availability to working hours; job may require OT without prior notice.
Must be available to work call hours and to fulfill the duties as required.
