Overview

Description

The Engineer III will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, restaurant, pool, administrative offices and all other public areas of the property. The Engineer III will be able to provide all functions of Engineer II as well as problem solving and troubleshooting under direct supervision.

The essential job functions of this job are:

  • Under direct supervision of Engineering Management and/or Engineer I/II;
  • Willing to learn all technical skills require by the department under direct supervision. Physically capable of performing rigorous task including lifting of 50 pounds or more. Of equipment material require to perform task assigned.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs an all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
  • Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
  • Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters, and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities. Familiarized with SDS Regulations
  • Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
  • Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify the next shift.
  • Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
  • Handle elevator breakdowns.
  • Assists with major projects as assigned.
  • Required to write notes to other staff members and make logbook entries.
  • Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
  • Other duties and jobs may be assigned as needed by supervisor.
  • Key Control:
    Adherence to hotel key control policies and procedures stablish by company

Qualifications

Educational / Certification / License Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent – Required Valid California Driver License - Required Professional Certifications – Preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Must have a desire for learning and personal growth.
  • Must be able to work independently.

Previous Experience

Required:

1 years' experience in the hotel maintenance field.
