OverviewMaintains equipment, fixturing, and tooling for the plant, including forklifts, material handling equipment, air compressors, boilers, HVAC equipment, and any outside contracts related to maintenance. This is the second level in the Maintenance Skill Progression, distinguished from the Associate level by independent judgment on complex tasks and immediate supervision from the Maintenance Team Leader or Senior Maintenance Technician(s).
Examples of Work Performed- Prior work experience in maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment, excellent mechanical and electrical abilities, in-depth working knowledge of PLCs, programming and troubleshooting skills, a technical education applicable to maintenance, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Perform maintenance activities on automated lines, air compressors, vacuum equipment, boilers, forklifts and other material handling equipment, conveyors, HVAC equipment, plumbing, lighting, process equipment (e.g., frame build fixtures, trim & close fixtures, final build fixtures), in‑line testers, OC3 testers, and tooling.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs and data for sound maintenance management of all equipment, building, and grounds.
- Collect data relating to equipment maintenance.
- Assist engineering and facilities management in managing outside contractors (mechanical, electrical, HVAC).
- Own project management responsibilities within the maintenance department.
- Assist engineers in setting up and debugging new and modified equipment.
- Set up various types of process equipment such as automated lines, in‑line testers, torque monitoring equipment, etc.
- Ensure risk is minimized through safe maintenance procedures and good housekeeping of the plant and grounds.
- Participate in team activities where maintenance input is required.
- Assist engineering and facilities management in special projects.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by facilities management.
- Perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Physical ability to make fast, simple repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Physical ability to operate various tools required in the maintenance trade.
- 2 years of relevant experience.
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to pass a drug screen/physical exam.
- Second shift hours of operation: 14:30 to 22:30.
