Summary
Part‑time position responsible for cleaning and upkeep in the men's locker room and assigned areas of the building. All staff model the YMCA’s four pillars of character—caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Hours:
Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am –12:00 pm.
- Ensure the Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties on the daily schedule and maintaining upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
- Sanitize showers, saunas, and clean empty lockers in the men’s locker room.
- Wet‑mop and dust, remove trash, wash windows, vacuum, wax floors, and check for maintenance problems.
- Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
- Operate related motorized and non‑motorized equipment.
- Record and report all needed repairs; repair as directed.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
High school diploma or GED. No prior experience or training required.
Certifications and TrainingCurrent CPR, First Aid/AED, or within 30 days of hire. Required YMCA Safety Trainings.
Physical DemandsRegular standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; smelling; occasional sitting; climbing or balancing; lifting/moving up to 25 pounds. Vision: color, close, distance, peripheral, depth perception.
Work EnvironmentExposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level usually moderate.
