Job Summary
The Project Lead
- Structured Cabling acts as the on-site coordinator and supervisor of several Crew Leads
- Structured Cabling for voice and data installation projects, ensuring job completion meets company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining staff efficiency.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Runs major project crews, takes responsibility for crew performance, and provides necessary training
- Ensures adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines; holds weekly safety meetings
- Initiates performance-related communications and escalates to the Project Manager as needed
- Coordinates with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and budget compliance
- Completes all IES Commercial and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers
- Performs quality checks, coordinates moves, and prepares cut sheets for voice and data cross-connects; prepares red-lined as-built drawings
- Serves as the main on-site customer contact and attends facility and construction meetings as required
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge and troubleshoots/resolves technical issues as they arise
- Completes other responsibilities as assigned
Min USD $25.00/Hr. Max USD $30.00/Hr.
Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements- Self-motivated, positive, and professional; helps create, develop, and implement process improvements
- Promotes Company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners
- Acts as the Company liaison with customer representatives
- Possesses strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and written/oral communication skills
- Able to stand and walk large job sites regularly
- Able to work at various heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs
- Able to see and distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals (e.g., dial tones)
- Able to travel within branch and/or regional territory as needed
- Regular attendance is mandatory
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field
- Ability to terminate fiber
- Minimum 6 months of supervisory and/or managerial experience
- Proficiency with required tools (screwdrivers, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, hammer, cable stripper, punch tools, crimp tools, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, continuity tester, etc.)
- Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents, including specifications and quality/reporting requirements
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project)
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards
