Director of Buildings and Grounds — Monticello Public Schools. 1.0 FTE. Available:

Job Summary

The Director of Buildings and Grounds is responsible for the overall leadership, management, operations, and programming of the district's Department of Buildings and Grounds. The Director will provide leadership and work directly with district administration, building principals, and other school employees to ensure a well-maintained, safe, and secure environment for students and staff. The position will office out of a specific school building (TBD) and will coordinate and oversee site operations, including daily building maintenance and custodial duties to meet emergencies and daily needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management of the Department of Buildings and Grounds.
  • Coordinate daily building maintenance and custodial operations to ensure safe and secure facilities.
  • Collaborate with district administration, principals, and staff to support operations and safety.
  • Respond to emergencies and address daily maintenance needs as required.
  • Lead in implementing health and safety standards and compliance with applicable codes.
  • Protect confidentiality of information about students, staff, and families.
Education/Certification
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pool certification required.
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license required.
Experience
  • Previous supervisory maintenance and/or custodial experience or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in an educational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state health and safety codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and lead others.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Commitment to district mission, beliefs, and strategic plan; maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience working with diverse students and families preferred.
Salary and Benefits
  • $114,977 annual salary.
