Position: OIT (3 or 4 Day Work Week)

PEIA Health Insurance – PPB Plan C (high-deductible plan) is MUB funded – 0 premiums for employees (including family) and an HSA account funded by MUB to cover the deductible. There are a total of seven plans to choose from.

DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work directly under supervision of Chief Operator and Shift Operator. OIT will gain knowledge and experience to obtain advancement in WTP Operator certification/classification. Upon attaining a WV Class III Drinking Water Certification, the OIT will be required to fill-in operate on an as‑needed basis.

Acquire on the job training by shadowing WTP Shift Operator, consisting of but not limited to analyzing treated water, operating and maintenance of chemical feed pumps, collecting samples and monitoring chlorine and fluoride levels, preparing bacteriological samples as needed, monitoring tank levels, maintain records of WTP and Booster Stations, assist Maintenance with repairs, and monitor spill conditions responding accordingly. Resolve customer concerns by telephone and keep current logs of issues reported.

Maintain contact with MUB employees in events of water issues, tank alarms, Booster Station concerns. Miscellaneous duties of light housekeeping and general labor, as instructed by Chief Operator.

Schedule consist of working 14 days per month, 2-week rotations of 12 hr shifts 730a‑730p and 730p‑730a

2-week rotations of 48 hr week and a 36 hr week:
Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat / Sun, Wed, Thur. OIT is required to work holidays if a holiday falls on a scheduled shift.
** DEPENDABILITY IS A REQUIREMENT FOR SCHEDULED SHIFTS**

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 18 years of age with High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic computer skills, record maintenance, identify, analyze, and resolve problems in timely manner
  • Handle glassware and lab equipment
  • Ability to multitask multiple projects in organized manner
  • Ability to work under supervision and well with other employees, as well as unsupervised with written and oral instructions
  • Climbing ladders, working in elevated areas, lifting 50 lbs., standing, walk, and sit for varying lengths of time
  • Minimum of 90 college credits required
  • EMPLOYMENT EDICT:
    Must attain a WV Class 1 Drinking Water Certification within 16 months of employment and show progress towards achieving higher certification, failure to show progress may result in loss of employment.
