Two Night Custodian Positions Open Now at Yorkville CUSD 115

Yorkville Community School District 115 is urgently seeking two full‑time night custodians to ensure district buildings remain clean, safe, and fully operational for students and staff. The district is looking to fill the roles as soon as possible, offering a starting salary range of $18.22 to $19.42 per hour for the 2025–2026 school year.

Reporting to the Building Operations Supervisor, the hired custodians will take on crucial daily responsibilities to maintain a condition of operating excellence across the facilities. Core duties include sweeping, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, and securing the building after hours. Custodians will also manage seasonal demands, such as clearing snow and salting walkways in the winter, and performing intensive deep‑cleaning and maintenance during the summer break.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and hold a current, valid Illinois driver’s license.

The physically demanding nature of the job requires employees to spend roughly 75% of their shift walking and 20% standing, and 5% sitting. Staff must be capable of frequent stooping, kneeling, and crawling, as well as frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally moving items weighing more than 75 pounds.

Applicants need basic math skills, effective written and oral communication, and the ability to adapt to changing work priorities. Employees will also be expected to perform minor maintenance on custodial equipment and classroom fixtures, such as changing ceiling tiles and light bulbs.
