Position
Full‑Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping)
Hours:
11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, including every other weekend.
Starting rate: $18.50 per hour.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patient rooms, and designated facility areas, including floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture, etc.
- Follow the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorization.
- Clean up major spills as needed and respond to pages in a timely manner.
- Clean and restock housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
- Remove all trash and linen within the hospital.
- Follow directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio‑hazard materials.
- Make periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
- Report any repairs to maintenance.
- Keep abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
- Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
- Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will be obtained within one year of employment.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to bend, push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.
- Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
- 1–2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a related area preferred.

Aboutthe Team
The Environmental Service Department ensures the cleanest and safest health care environment for all team members, patients and visitors. The department is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of common areas, outpatient areas, procedural areas, and patient rooms, including bathrooms, furniture, carpet/hard surface floors, vents, electronics and patient equipment. The team uses sanitizing processes of the highest quality required by multiple regulatory agencies and collaborates with the Infection Prevention and Quality Departments to ensure consistent alignment at all sites.
