Environmental Aide MMC

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Full‑Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, including every other weekend. Starting rate: $18.50 /hour.

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patient rooms, and other designated facility areas, including floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, and furniture.
• Follows the department’s policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio‑hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED/Equivalent required, or will obtain within one year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50 lbs.

• Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of customer‑service experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a related area preferred.

• Minimum hourly rate: $18.50
• Maximum hourly rate: $28.88
