Substitute Custodian
Reports To: Building Custodial Foreman and/or Custodial Night Foreman
Qualifications- Demonstrated ability of skills and knowledge needed to perform in areas of responsibility, and an ability to obtain training for the same.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
- Dust mop all tile and wood floor areas and vacuum all carpeted areas. Use a damp mop and spot‑clean where necessary to remove excess soiling. Move furniture, where necessary, to clean thoroughly. Replace furniture in regular positions.
- Refill all towels, toilet tissue, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers.
- Make sure all windows and doors are closed and locked, and that all necessary fans and lights are turned off.
- Remove garbage and recyclables from the cafeteria after each lunch period when on duty.
- Raise and lower the American flag.
- Assist in the receipt and delivery of supplies throughout the building.
- Remove all graffiti from furniture.
- Remove markings and smudges from painted and tiled walls.
- Clean door glass and frames of smudges and fingerprints.
- Dust furniture, window ledges, shelves, maps, globes, charts, display cases, bleachers (clean under bleachers at this time), lockers, etc.
- Replace mops and supplies in closets (towels, tissues, soap, germicidal detergent disinfectant, light bulbs, stripper and floor finish).
- Scrub shower walls with germicidal cleaner.
- Perform all reasonable requests made and discuss any complications with the supervisor.
- Perform such other duties in the performance of the general responsibility as may be necessary or desirable, as assigned by the building or night foreman.
- Mop the floors of all kitchens, cafeterias, lavatories, and locker rooms with germicidal cleaner. Wash and disinfect all surfaces.
- Wash all drinking fountains, sinks, toilet bowls, and urinals with a germicidal cleaner.
- Empty all waste baskets, refuse receptacles, and pencil sharpeners.
- Collect and transport all trash and recyclables to proper containers.
- Clean all chalkboards and chalk rails, and whiteboards with appropriate cleansers upon direction from the foreman/supervisor.
- Clean all mirrors and chrome.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the foreperson.
$21 per hour
BenefitsEarned Sick Leave:
You accrue 1 hour of earned sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. For example, if you work 40 hours a week, you will earn 5.33 hours of earned sick leave in 4 weeks.

Employees of the Morris School District hired after the effective date who do not reside in the State of New Jersey at the time of hire have one year from the effective date of employment to relocate their primary residence to New Jersey.
Employees of the school district hired prior to the September 1, 2011 effective date of this Act are grandfathered and are not required to relocate to New Jersey.
