Lab Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic team in a leading global food production company, where you will play a critical role in supporting the Research & Development of liquid and powder beverage and dessert mixes. This position offers the opportunity to work in an innovative R&D environment focused on food safety, quality control, and product development.

Responsibilities

* Perform contamination plating at each step of the process using TSA.

* Send phage samples to the Central LAB for analysis.

* Maintain records of daily Pre-Op inspections.

* Assemble, sterilize, and disassemble various equipment including centrifuges, packaging pumps, and blenders.

* Conduct Starter Media and/or Milk Sterilization along with Glycerin, KOH, and Sodium Citrate Sterilization.

* Prepare and mix Milk and De-Ionized water per formula.

* Transfer cell paste to sterile buckets and add sterilized ingredients for formulation.

* Set up filler units and conduct compressed air testing at fillers.

* On packaging days, assemble and stamp white boxes, label racks, collect samples, perform QC Testing, and manage product storage.

Qualifications

* Minimum 1 year of experience in a food lab environment with a focus on laboratory procedures and GMP compliance.

* Experience in quality control, sample preparation, testing, and quality assurance.

* Knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment handling.

This is a Contract position based out of Morton Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.71 - $22.71/hr.
