Position Overview

The position is responsible for maintaining clean and orderly facilities for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role responds to customer requests and building emergencies, provides organizational and operational support, and supports events.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic cleaning, sanitization and trash collection in and around residence halls and university buildings.
  • Answer radio calls and emails.
  • Set up for and support events and respond to other customer requests.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Notify building occupants of cleaning and floor maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain clean and clear walkways, ensuring they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service.
  • Ensure that assigned rooms and buildings are opened and locked as scheduled.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and meet policy requirements for driving university‑owned vehicles.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating industrial high‑speed cleaning equipment and performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment.
  • Expressed interest in learning and acquiring skills related to custodial services.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Climb ladders, bend and stoop.
  • Carry, lift or otherwise move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk continuously throughout the workday.
  • Work in inclement weather conditions.
Degree Requirement

A degree is required at time of application.

Compensation

$18.50 - $19.80 per hour, DOE.
