Summary:
This position is a temporary on-call position only through the winter months of . Position will start November 23, 2026, and run through April 12, 2027. Call Out Hours are from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm during any given snow event at the University of Idaho. Hours are not guaranteed but determined by the amount of snow that falls this season and who on the call-out lists accepts or declines the call.
Summary
Working within a team environment and under the direction of the Campus Landscape Manager, the incumbent performs manual snow removal by shoveling and/or operating snow blower; distributing sand/salt to hardscapes which provides a safe environment for Faculty, Staff and Students during the winter months. Multiple positions being filled.
Responsibilities- Assist Snow Removal Team by:
- Scooping, pushing, lifting and shoveling snow.
- Distributing sand/salt.
- Operating snow blower.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather with an assigned snow team member.
- Be punctual and have perseverance.
- Must be able to scoop, push, lift, throw or otherwise move snow loads weighing up to 25 pounds by shovel and/or operating snow blower for several hours at a time.
