Maintenance Supervisor
Join Clariant's Care Chemicals business unit as a Maintenance Supervisor and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our plant operations. In this position, you will lead a skilled maintenance team, coordinating planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities to keep equipment safe and efficiently. You will balance priorities and resources to minimize downtime, support production targets, and respond effectively to operational needs.
At the same time, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement by developing team capabilities, enhancing equipment reliability, and driving proactive maintenance practices. This role is also critical in maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and environmental performance, contributing directly to the site's operational excellence and long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations
- Plan, schedule, and ensure execution of preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities
- Align maintenance plans with production requirements in coordination with operations and planning teams
- Manage work order backlog and prioritize activities to optimize maintenance workload
- Oversee maintenance execution on critical rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, seals, blowers, compressors)
- Lead daily maintenance meetings and ensure timely resolution of operational issues
- Ensure spare parts availability and act as key liaison between planning and execution teams
- Generate maintenance reports, analyze performance data, and recommend improvements
- Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory standards
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; or technical college education preferred
- Proficiency in SAP (preferred) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within an industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs
- Good understanding of maintenance processes and plant operations
