Overview

Senior Staff Accountant. Reports to the US Controller. Full-Time. Must work on site in Mt Prospect, IL. Lapmaster International is looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing, managing month- and year-end financial closes, preparing financial reports as needed, performing account reconciliations and resolving differences on a timely basis, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating accounting functions and programs
  • Preparing financial analyses and reports
  • Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Managing month end close process
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Assisting with audit preparations as required
  • Inventory management in Manufacturing. Working knowledge of cost accounting a plus
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned
Education & Skills Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • CPA is preferred
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills is a must
  • Ability to train and manage staff
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
