Staff Accountant

Schedule: Full-time, Onsite (Monday–Friday)

A growing and well-established organization in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a newly created position driven by company growth and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while gaining exposure to a variety of accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Record journal entries and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
• Assist with sales and use tax reporting and compliance
• Analyze financial information and investigate account variances
• Support audits and provide requested documentation
• Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Experience with sales and use tax reporting preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
