General Service Technician –
Job Title:
General Service Technician.
Location:
2 West Rand Rd Mt Prospect, IL 60056. Compensation: $15.00 - $15.24 per hour. Worker Type:
Employee. Time Type:
Part time.
- Service guests' vehicles to ensure top-notch quality work and exceptional guest experience.
- Promote teamwork to deliver on time and accurate guest care during all operating hours.
- Demonstrate excellent guest service, including clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and presentable service center.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level automotive technicians.
- Check and communicate oil level to teammates.
- Ensure tire pressure is properly inflated.
- Inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary.
- Complete vehicle inspection.
- Install a new oil drain plug and a new oil filter.
- Clean and lubricate fittings as needed.
- Document all work performed on the repair order.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
- Maintain strict adherence to company policy on vehicle care and operation.
- Perform various manual tasks for extended periods, including light and heavy lifting, standing, bending, and squatting.
- At least 3 months of customer-facing experience (e.g., retail, food service, hospitality).
- Minimum age 18 and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Preferred but not required:
Previous experience in a similar role. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills to interact with guests and teammates.
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude; independently motivated, dependable, and a team player.
- Demonstrates responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures, identify problems, and make sound decisions.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform manual tasks including bending, squatting, and working in varying temperatures and loud environments.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Ready to perform other duties as assigned.
