TITLE:
Playground/Cafeteria Monitor
$15/hour
3 hours per day
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal;
Director of Food service provides feedback.
JOB GOAL:
To supervise the students during recess and lunch, and support the Food service
Employee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to manage large groups of children and maintain order
2. Employee must be able to see and hear; speak, type and write English clearly
3. Able to work cooperatively with other production staff
4. Employee must obtain their food handlers license per state and local health
department regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling,
reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, is required for extended periods of time.
2. Lifting and moving 45 pounds
3. Work may be in hot, cold, and/or damp environments
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Reports to work on time
2. Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance
3. Reads and responds to district/building communications in a timely manner and
within any explicitly defined deadlines
4. Supervises children and monitors student behavior in a positive manner
according to District guidelines: lunchroom, hallways, to and from the classroom,
and on the playground and equipment
5. Supervises children and monitor student behavior in a positive manner and
according to District guidelines in the classrooms during indoor recess
6. Communicates inappropriate behavior to teachers and/or administration
in a timely manner (orally or in writing)
7. Serves lunch to students, sell milk, keep supplies stocked and assists the
Food service employee to ensure all students are served efficiently.
8. Is vigilant at all times when supervising on the playground or in
unstructured indoor settings
9. At the end of lunch times:
Cleans and disinfects tables and chairs, as
needed, collects garbage and prepares lunchroom for the next group of students.
10. Maintains cleanliness and order in the kitchen according to district standards
11. Implements and follows the district's Health and Accident/Injury Procedures
and Blood borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
12. Supports and implements the district's Risk Management Policy to ensure
that statutory and common law health and safety rights are extended to all visitors,
employees, and students, to provide careful supervision and protection of all district
real and personal property
13. Participates in in-service training programs as directed by building
administrator(s)
14. Performs additional duties as assigned by the building administrator(s)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Job contingent upon Board approval. Salary and work year determined by Negotiated
Agreement between the RTEA and the Board of Education.
