Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Mount Prospect, Illinois

This contract opportunity spans the academic year, starting August 19, 2026, and continuing through early June 2027, with an end date based on school assignment. • National or state certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or NIC)
• Demonstrated experience working in K-12 educational settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to effectively interpret academic content and classroom communication
• Flexibility to adapt to changing student or school needs
• Strong collaboration skills for working with teachers, staff, and families

• Provide accurate and clear interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language during classroom instruction, assemblies, and school events
• Support students communication needs in academic, social, and extracurricular activities
• Collaborate with educational staff to tailor interpreting services for individual student needs
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards in educational interpreting
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the student support team as needed
