Automation Mechanic- First Shift

CVS Health, a Fortune 4 company, invites a new member to the Pharmacy Maintenance Team in Chicago, IL. As an Automation Maintenance Technician you will maintain and troubleshoot the pharmacy’s automated systems. This full‑time role focuses on routine inspections of specialized machines, identifying and resolving technical issues to meet production goals, and upholding quality expectations. Starting pay is $36.00/hr, with opportunities for advancement as soon as six months (based on skill level).

• Troubleshoot and maintain automation robotics, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in a large‑volume pharmaceutical dispensing facility.
• Conduct routine inspections of machines and systems, including electro‑mechanical control systems and PLC‑based control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, report major repair needs to the Manager, and maintain a safe work area for all employees.
• Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and procedures.

Tuesday–Friday: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm;
Saturday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Full time, 40 hours per week. Premium pay for weekends or company holidays worked.

• Comfortable with physical labor: crawling under conveyor, operating in confined spaces, lifting 60 lbs without assistance, climbing ladders and industrial platforms, using air lifts, standing for 90 % of shift, and working with dirty equipment during preventative maintenance.
• 3+ years of risk assessment skills, including evaluating how changes affect processes.
• 3+ years of project management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize.
• 3+ years of performing preventive maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment using LOTO procedures.
• 3+ years of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated equipment controlled by PLCs.
• 3+ years of mechanical and pneumatic repairs in an automation environment.
• 3+ years of electrical schematic/print reading and voltmeter usage (24 V – 480 V).

• Experience in medical, fulfillment center, warehouse, or healthcare environments.
• Experience working with automation robots such as ABB or Fanuc.
• Experience in a regulated environment (ISO 9000, ISO 13485, FDA, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device).
• Mechatronics or related certification/training.
• Experience using Manager Plus “Work Order Dashboard” / parts management system.
• Verifiable high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Weekly hours: 40. Full time. Pay range: $21.10 – $44.99 per hour. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
